Head Start

Head Start and Early Head Start programs support the mental, social, and emotional development of children from birth to age 5. In addition to education services, programs provide children and their families with health, nutrition, social, and other services. Head Start services are responsive to each child and family’s ethnic, cultural, and linguistic heritage.

Breaking the cycle of poverty for 76 at-risk families a year. Providing comprehensive education and support services at no charge to qualifying families.

Head Start of Laramie provides free early childhood, nutrition, health, mental health, and family services to children ages three to five. We support our families in achieving success.

Free Screen for Success child development screenings are offered monthly at the Wyoming Child and Family Development Guernsey Center for all children from birth through five years old.

Head Start

Youth and family support to help with intensive care coordination school, counselors, DFS and probation for families with children who have a behavioral health condition, who need more support, or are risk of out of home placement.

Head Start

All services are provided 12 months a year. This allows for continuity for child, families and staff; there is also less regression for children over the summer months. Children aged birth through five grow and develop so quickly – and with the elimination of three months of service per year, this could be a significant regression factor. Babies are born 12 months out of the year, and doctors, nurses, public health, parents, hospital staff and DFS need to be able to refer at point of need.

The program is free to income eligible families with children ages 3 and 4 years of age .Head Start offers the following services: preschool education, child health (physical, dental and mental health) and development, nutrition, social and emotional development and parent, family, and community engagement.

The Wyoming Child and Family Development Lusk Center offers services for children birth to three year olds

TLC offers services for children birth to 5. We have four Head Start Classrooms and also provide all the disability services to any child birth to five in Goshen County that qualifies for services.
